The instructions will open in a new window for your
convenience. These instructions contain several pictures, so it might
take several (long) seconds for the page to open. Once the page does
open, then allow a few extra seconds for all the pictures to appear.
Following along with the illustrated
instructions, here's how to insert a jpg file into a Word document.
1. Open a Word document, and click on Insert on your
toolbar. Next, click on Picture, and then click on From File.
2. After you click on From File (in step 1), locate the
jpg file that you want to insert. You locate the file just as you would
for any other file that you are looking for, but clicking on the arrow
in the “Look for” field, and clicking on the place or folder that has
the jpg file. When you find your jpg file, click on it and then click
Insert.
3. You may have to play with the jpg image a little
bit, to make it the size that you want. Before you do that, print a test
copy. Go to File, and click on Print.
4. If you need to make the picture fit the page
better, then switch to Print Layout view. You can do that by either
following the simple instructions given above (for putting this How To
document into Print Layout view), or you can click on the print layout
view button at the bottom of your screen. It is the third button from
the left.
5. Once you have switched to Print
Layout view, you can “see” the size of the paper, and the edges of the
picture. Click on the picture. Now move the cursor to the bottom edge of
the picture, right in the middle. The cursor will change to an up and
down arrow. Hold down the mouse bottom and drag the mouse. You can make
the picture bigger or smaller.
